Probable Camp Format:

Monday  - Wednesday:  9 am to 4pm,
with lunch break 12:30 to 1:30 each day.
Thursday 9 am to 1pm.

Divisions: 
There will probably be three divisions:
Shining Stars directed by Tom Houser
Shooting Stars and Rising Stars will be directed by one of the STAR Camp assistant coaches.

Coach France will assign athletes to their divisions, and the staff will move athletes around until they are in the appropriate division.

Cost: 
$200 for Magna Vista & Laurel Park athletes!
$210 for athletes from other schools!

Maximum Number: 
Approximately 20 in the Shining Stars division.  
Approximately 25 in the Shooting Stars division.
Approximately 25 in the Rising Stars division .

What The Camp Entails:
We will start the camp in separate divisions working on the girls' skills to ensure all the athletes can serve, pass, hit and dig properly. Throughout the camp, setters will get a lot of time working with coaches who specialize in setting. On the 2nd day, competitions will begin which emphasize the skills of the game. On the 3rd day, teams will be created in each division to get ready for the Thursday tournament. For the final few hours on Thursday, athletes and parents wil love watching the tournament!!

Cameron Blankenship
Cameron is a junior at Guilford College where she is on the volleyball team. Cameron is a 2019 graduate of Bassett High where she played 6 years of school volleyball. She also played 8 seasons of of club vball. She was a member of Coach Houser's 15 National team in 2016. She was 1st all-district all 4 years in high school, and was named District Player Of The Year as a senior. Cameron has worked 15 STAR camps the past three summers and has given a multitude of private lessons in Martinsville & Danville! You can contact Cameron at cameronlblankenship@gmail.com!!

Ashlea Havens
Ashlea is the head JV and varsity vball coach at Carlisle School in Martinsville. She is also coaching a club team for State Line Vball Club. Before that, she played two seasons at Patrick Henry Community College on their volleyball team. She is a 2018 graduate of Patrick County High where she played DS & Libero. She played 5 years of high school vball as well as 5 seasons of travel. She also played softball for 8 years. including travel & school. Rosie Giles
Rosie is a freshman at the Univ of Colorado at Boulder. She is a 2021 graduate at Patrick Henry High in Roanoke. She has played 5 years of school ball and 4 years of club volleyball with the highest level teams Roanoke has to offer. She has played every position in her career except MB. Kendra Meek Williams
Kendra is a 2010 graduate of Roanoke Home School. She is a 2014 graduate of ABC University in Electical Engineering. She was the head coach of Charleston Middle College in Charleston South Carolina. While in high school, she played 6 years of school volleyball & 5 years of club ball. In 2004, she played on Coach Houser's 15s National team. Emily Dudley
Emily played 6 years of school ball in the awesome Hidden Valley volleyball program. She also played 6 years of club. She not only takes dozens of hours private lessons each year, but gives privates, and has assisted nearly 200 hours in the past 2 yeas. She's motivational, a leader and has immense knowledge! Erin Saunders
Erin will be a senior at Westover Christian in Danville, Va. She has played school ball for six seasons and has been a starter on the varsity team the past four seasons as an OH. She is a serving, passing, hitting machine! She was named first-team all-state VACA the past 2 seasons. She's also played four years of club volleyball.
