Rookie Division Director:

Devyn Bayes
Devyn is the head coach of the American University women's club volleyball team.   She graduated from Ferrum College in 2010, where she made the volleyball team as a walk-on her freshman year!!  She graduated from George Washington High School in Danville, VA in 2007, where she played volleyball for six years.  Devyn is now in graduate school at American University in Washington DC, and will graduate this summer.  Devyn has assisted with twenty-seven STAR volleyball camps, including being the rookie camp director at Chugiak High in Anchorage Alaska in July of 2009 and at Timberlake Camp in July 2010.  Her email is:   dbayes@ferrum.edu   Facebook page is here.

Ashley Edwards Kemper
Ashley was Danny Miller's assistant at Averett University for three years.  Before that she played four years at Tennessee Wesleyan College, where she graduated in 2007 with a B.S. in History. She completed her Masters of Education degree at Averett last summer.  She is now living in Nashville with her husband and son Lucas, teaching at Currey Ingram Academy in Brentwood.  Ashley  is also a consultant to the CIA JV and Varsity volleyball program, as well as the director of vball skills clinics and individual training at the Bellevue YMCA.  You can contact Coach Edwards at ashley.kemper@curreyingram.org

Aidan Guilfoyle
  Aidan is a freshman at Lafayette University in Eaton Pennsylvania!   You can see her bio here.   While in high school at Roanoke Catholic School, she played 5 years of varsity, 1 year of JV and 7 years of club ball.   She participated with the Roanoke Juniors 17's at AAU Nationals in Orlando.  She was a member of Coach Houser's 2008 15's junior team that was ranked #1 in the Old Dominion Region, and his 2009 Region Champion team that qualified for Nationals and spent a week in Miami in June of 2009.   You can contact Aidan at lemonaidan21@cox.net

Maribeth Kern
Maribeth will be a 2012 graduate of James River High.  She has had a great volleyball career, making 1st team all-district 3 consecutive years, was name district player of the year as a junior, was named 1st team all state as a junior.  Her team was the A state championship as a junior. She also plays club ball, and has been on her club's top team each season.  In the spring of 2012, she is playing on Dewaynne Barger's 18 Open team for NRV.  It's wonderful to have Maribeth as part of our staff for this summer.

 

According to NCAA rules, graduates ARE eligible to participate in a summer high school camp.  This will not get them in any trouble and it will not jeopardize their college volleyball eligibility.
